April 2015 - Atlanta, GA –TRICK 3D GALLERY, a fine art gallery committed to showcasing progressive digital art in a variety of mediums, announces its debut with sculptural work from artist Sam Lasseter in conjunction with the Savannah College of Art and Design. The show, entitled “Joy,” is the first solo show for the artist, and marks the public debut of the Westside gallery.
“Joy’s purpose is to spread happiness through art. Each piece strives to make the viewer smile and leave them with a light heart. By relating with the audience through nostalgic subject matter and amusing interactivity, I hope to connect people with their uninhibited childhood creativity.””
Sam Lasseter was born and raised in Sonoma County, California and is currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia. He is completing his fourth year at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) pursuing a BFA in sculpture. Lasseter’s passion is puppetry, attracted by the audience it reaches and the dialogue it creates. Inspired by this, his sculptural works aim to make the viewer smile and to spread joy. Lasseter has trained as a puppet builder, interning at Puppet Heap in New Jersey and the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta where he continues to volunteer as a museum docent. At SCAD, he has expanded his knowledge of puppet construction and production, specifically in fibers, fashion draping, script writing and performing arts.
